Heyy Guys, I was thinking last night while I was on youtube and stuff, and I thought that this would be like sorta a cool idea to do. I mean more then half of the people on the site already have met up and everything so I don't think that this would be nessicarily a bad idea. But I was thinking that it would be kinda cool to do a video blog type thread on here? Ya know how people on youtube go on there and just blog with their video cameras and stuff? Well I thought it would be kinda cool to do the same on here. Post vids on youtube, and link them to here or whatever.

I thought this could be a cool way to get to know the people outside of EH. Getting to know "behind the characters" I guess you could call it. Ofcourse we could make the thread veiwable to "members only of the site" and it is ofcourse optional. But I thought it could be cool to keep in touch that way, especially since not all of us have webcams and stuff.

Post your thoughts on this and see if it's a cool idea or not!

I think its a great Idea, but it's going to need a few entrepreneur's to kick it off and I'm sorry to say I'm not one of them it's probably better that people know less about me to be honest

Yeah I thought it would be fun. I know that theres gonna have to be a few people to start it off right before everyone would hit the band wagon... I thought that it would be another way to post threads and stuff, like instead of posting a thread, make a video blog thing instead if your bored or whatever.

Everyones welcome to post your ideas on this, I know that people are weirded out to sorta do this because the whole communication on the internet is all iffy. So just post your thoughts. The more people could do this the better it could turn out :)

Well, I'd so do it if it was guranteed that you have to be a member of EH to see it, but if it was uploaded on like YouTube or something... doesn't that mean that other people can see it too?

I like the idea a lot but i konw little about the tecnically side of setting this up. Plus i like to keep my self off youtube lol. Still im interested.

Well I believe that with youtube that you can have your profile private. But I was also thinking that with a private profile you cant even have people watch your videos unless they are your friends. But I haven't really used youtube myself. I uploaded one video and its private, tried putting it on myspace to see if it will show up, but it didn't. But I never had people on youtube be my friends or subscribe to my video so I dont know if by being friends they can be the only ones to see the vids.

So another way we could do it is if we made like a Enter Hogwarts account on youtube... and only we would know the password (we'd give out the passwords to the site members through PMs) Then we'd be able to keep the vidoes private from other people seeing it but we can still see the videos because we can get into the account directly. I believe this would be the easiest way to do it. I wouldn't mind making up the account. The username would be simple, somthing like enterhogwarts. I know that it would be easier to just embed the video onto this site, but this is the best way to keep the videos private amungst us while keeping everyone else but us to look at them. Also, we could make a separate thread on the site to alert other members to look at the new video that they put up. Easy right?

This is the best way to do it... unless someone knows a better way to do it, or even a better video uploader thing.

I really really like the idea, but am too lazy to work out how to do it...so would need help with that lol. Then at meets we could all post one together...especially because the next meet is at mine in Wales WOOOO so yeah...lol

I'm having visions of it turning out like embarassing dating agency videos.

"Hi, I'm Mark. I collect train tickets and I'm looking for a friend who can help me stick them into my big yellow folder."

(Not that I've ever done a dating agency video, of course : p)

I dunno, I guess we could talk about different stuff... make up random topics to discuss, like how we came up with our characters and stuff. I dunno.

I like morgs idea about the EH meets and post vids from them. That would be cool.

Also another good idea that could come out of this is we could even advertize the site on youtube... like kinda make EH movies... to sorta promote the site to drawl people in. Ofcourse we dont need to post anyones pictures on there, but just make a lil brief hp related video to advertize and show of the site to everyone. I've seen many rpg sites do this.

A kind off-shoot of this I thought of just now.

Perhaps we could do a podcast or radio show. Perhaps monthy or bi-monthly?

It could be like the Hogwarts Radio Show and we could act in character in it OR we could do news reports on the events on the website that current week OOC, perhaps to recap for people who don't visit as regularly.

I prefer this idea to the video (although we could do a video version of a news-show) but this idea kinda gives it some purpose.

I mean, this could be a totally seperate idea or we could try and merge the two?

I'd like to do a podcast, although I have minimal knowledge of how to record this kind of thing, but I would be willing to research more into it if other people were willing to contribute aspects to the show.

But just imagine being able to listen to EH on your Ipod (other brand MP3 players are available ;) )

A pod cast might be okay, I personally have an aversion to my image being reproduced through any media form. My voice is alright though.
