View Full Version : What A Good Time Can Turn Into
Rowan Hellscare

Rowan hadn't come to realize everything that has happened to him so far. A wizard living in an all muggle world and then introduced to this....it gives one a loss of words.
On this breezy and cloudy day, Rowan stood, slouched, up against a nearby tree to the lake and twirled his wand in his hand. He never got a chance to do magic for the sake of doing magic so he look around. There was a slighlty large rock sitting at the edge of the lake. He looked around for a target...
"There," he said under his breath when spotting the head of a giant creature poking it head out the water.
He pointed his newly brandished wand at the rock and said aloud the oh so familiar incantation, "WINGARDIUM LAVIOSA!" and magically levitated the rock and whipped it around and threw it at the creatures head.

"That's a mean thing to do." Eva observed as she closed her book and started to walk over to him. She was reading outside because it was such a nice day outside and didn't want to spend it indoors.
"Be careful. Some of those creatures could walk on land and get you!" She joked with him, not meaning what she said.

Rowan turned around so fast at the "Thats a mean thing to do" comment. He hadn't thought of seeing if he was in the clear? He saw a beautiful girl with a book in her lap.
"Really!?" he said with eagerness in his voice, obviously not catching on to the yet so obvious joke.
Rowan steadily got closer putting his wand back in his pocket.
"By the way I am Rowan," he said trying to sound as relaxed and confident as he could.

She laughed when he proceeded to believe her when she told him that the creatures from the lake could come out and get him. She leaned against the tree and scooped her book on his hip and held it with both hands.
"Hi Rowan. I'm Eva. Nice to meet you." She said as she looked back out at the lake and noticed he put away his wand.
"You aren't going to throw rocks at anything else?" She asked him with a smirk on her face.

Rowan laughed at Eva's question.
"I don't think I'll be throwing anything else in there," Rowan said smirking in return. "Unless of course it throws it first, then its war!"
Rowan smiled, he just realized how much he didn't know about this place. What if something did throw a rock back? He would be prepared.
"Eva, do you know what lies at the bottom of this lake?" Rowan asked.

Eva laughed again at the boy named Rowan. It was nice to talk about something else other than the endless drama that seemed to go on at Hogwarts.
"Yeah, you might want to be careful, because sometimes they do throw things back... though its normally stuff students drop in there when they go on the boats down by the lake." Eva pointed to the docks where they had a few boats tied up.
"Maybe your rock won't get thrown back at you unless someone saw you throw it!" She shook her head in disbelief but then giggled at her constant joking with the poor kid. Then she opened her eyes wide when he asked her what was on the bottom of the lake.
"You don't know? Its in Hogwart's: A history!" She sighed in true Ravenclaw fashion. "The Squid, merpeople..." Eva rattled on to name all the animals that lived there.

Hollie had been going for a walk. The grounds reminded her a lot of back home and it was doing something to ease her homesickness. She came through a small clump of trees at the edge of the lake and saw Eva and Rowan. She forced a smile on to her face as she approached the two.
"Hi guys....Eva do those creatures really exist?" She had heard the end of Eva's list and it had made her heart leap in her chest, all these creatures she didn't know existed, had thought were make believe, might be real? It excited her. She sat down on the grass near Eva and smiled again.

Franz was on his daily afternoon jog, when he noticed Eva sitting at a slight distance by the lake with two other students. He decided to take a little break and go say hi.
As he approached the group, he heard Eva listing animals that lived in the lake.
"So, you are a Ravenclaw afterall." He joked and smiled.

Drachir saw the commotion from afar, he immediatly ran down to see what had happened. As far as he could tell a new sudent just wanged a poor creature on the head.
"What the Hell, what did it do to you?"
Drachir wasn't pleased at all hurting creatures just for the sake of target practice, even the merepeople and dragons didn't deserve that.
"I'm in half a mind to whack you around the head with a rock to see how you like it."
Darchir was rarely cross, it was actually quite hard to get him cross generally, a very nice guy in fact; his angryness soon dissapeared when he noticed Eva.
"Oh hi Eva, Spark, Kaiser."

Eva shrugged her shoulders at the appearance of Hollieanda. She was glad that the Ravenclaws got a new girl- though Rose was pretty fun to have around, Trall was not and it was good to potentially have another friend in the tower.
"I'm not sure. I never really seen any of them before. However, its put in the book and I don't think a textbook would lie, would it?" Eva looked down at her textbook and opened her eyes in terror at the possibility that a school book could be factually inaccurate. She swung her head over to the arrival of Franz and she stuck out her tongue at him though he cheeks were turning red at his appearance.
Then he heard another familiar welsh accent and noticed that Drachir was going on about how Rowan was attacking creatures in the water. She never seen Drachir get angry before and prepared to turn into a full out fight when when he changed mannerisms again and said hi to everyone.
Eva laughed at his sudden switch. "Drachir loves Magical Creatures. I think he likes them more than people." She said to Rowan and the rest of the group and winked at Drachir to make sure he knew she was joking.

Franz' smile lingered as Eva stuck her tongue out at him, but soon was distracted when Drachir approached them completely angry for some reason. Apparently, the new student had been whacking some creatures in the head, and Drachir didn't like it one bit. However, his attidude soon changed when he noticed the rest of the group.
"What's up." Franz greeted the Hufflepuff.
Franz didn't feel as strongly about throwing a few rocks in to the water and having it hit some animals, so he didn't make a comment about it. He looked over at the Ravenclaw and the guy that had been throwing rocks, and wondered who they were. He'd never met them before.

Hollie looked down at Eva's text book and smiled. She also didn't think a text book would lie, what would be the point.
"I don't think a text book would lie, they are supposed to be factually accurate so I think they would have to be true. I believe you if you say that the books says they are real." She jumped slightly as Drachir approached. He was shouting about the creatures in the lake. She gathered Rowan had hit them with something. She scowled at Rowan.
"Rowan, its not nice to hit something like that, I think you should find a way to make reparation to the creatures of the lake." She finally looked up at Franz. She had avoided his gaze because they hadn't been intoduced properly yet but she supposed there was no time like the present.
"Hi...my name is Hollieanda...your Franz right? I have seen you on your table at breakfast."

Drachir laughed, it was partly true there was some people he liked less than magical; creatures and there were a few he liked more than magical creatures.
"Hey Kaiser this guy was just hitting critters, besides that not much just wandering about."
He'd got to know Kaiser through an accidental drinking session that went on very late into the night, he found him to be quite a soletary person much like Drachir.
"The book wont lie I'm sure theres loads of things in there, but I bet it doesn't tell you the whole truth; I'm under the assumption that anything could be in there. I mean I don't think anyone knows how deep it actually is and Eva only mentioned magical creatures I bet theres a whole treasure trove of stuff down there."

Rowan was liking Eva more and more, he was finally catching onto her jokes but she seemed to know so much abouth this place. Maybe, she could help him with something else he was wondering about... The one secret he has been hoping to unlock since the day he got there.
Rowan took all this in, he seemed to have angered a dew people by throwing the rock at the creature so much so that he offended another student.
"I apologize for the rock throwing," Rowan said apathetically to the student apparently named Drachir.
"The name's Rowan by the way, I promise I'll try and cease my rock throwing at magical creatures activity," Rowan had continued the introduction to both Drachir and Franz.
Rowan didn't think to much of the threat. Natrually, he didn't take well to the threat but he felt that getting into a fight wasn't the best thing to do at this point in time. Hopefully he didn't just make an enemy over a simple rock thrown.
"How was to pay reparation to the lake?" Rowan wondered. He didn't feel like a rock thrown into the lake was looked at as vandelism. He hopped that this sea creature was ok, after the way everything was turning out.
Rowan looked down in the lake and saw something shimmering through its mirky depths.
"I wonder what that is," Rowan said pointing down thinking through the list of things Eva had said were down in the lake. That shimmering object did not seem to be something of the nature.

Eva smiled at the group that formulated around her and smirked at Drachir's comment about the book not saying everything that was in the lake.
"But, why would it not say everything unless there was something really dangerous residing in the lake?" Eva replied to Drachir and then heard Rowan's comment and looked past the sea of heads to see... nothing. She furrowed his brow and looked at Rowan.
"What did you see?" She asked him, unsure of whether to believe him. It may be another excuse to throw a rock a the water again. However, as she was staring at the water, it happened again! Eva blinked a few times and looked at Hollieanda, Drachir, Franz and Rowan.
"Did you see that?" She exclaimed and was frozen on the spot, unknowing whether to run towards the lake or run away!

"Well the majourity of creatures that are documented have attacked someone right and person survived, well if someone was looking in the lake they could have been attacked and killed by something else and had no idea how to defend against it because it was entirely new. I guess someone should go on an exploritory dive, but good luck finding someone daft ebough to do it."
He noticed both Eva and rowan take a fancy at the shiny thing, probably not a good idea to go in and have a look at it.
"What are you on about?"
He couldn't remember it.

Hollie looked towards were Eva and Rowan were looking. She saw something sparkle for a moment and here eyes widened. She nodded slowly but pulled her gaze away from it to look at Drachir.
"Well I'm not going to volunteer, as much as I would like to know what all the things in the lake are I don't want to risk that much for learning..." She turned her gaze back to the lake again and watched to see if she could see the thing again.

Franz nodded at Hollieanda.
"Yeah, I am Franz." He confirmed his identity and then looked over at Drachir who replied that nothing else was up other than Rowan throwing things at some animals.
"By the way, I would be careful throwing things in the lake." Franz suddenly commented after he listened to everyone debate on what kind of creatures lived in there.
"A while back, Lucas and Bear almost drowned because something was wrong with the Giant Squid. It was winter though, and there was a sheet of ice, so we were ice skating.
