Plot Ideas?

Hey Fellow EHers,

So the admin and I would like to start another plot of some sort at Hogwarts to occupy our times. I know the Trall and Lucas Orb plot is still going on (sort of) but in the mean time, have some more superficial and short lived to get everyone engaged.

Does anyone have any ideas? I know some of you have tried some different things to no prevail, but maybe if we work through some kinks and explain the thread ideas, people will go along?

Some of thread that haven't taken off that would take off if some things were change are time travel, different scenarios and Hogwarts: the future.

Does anyone have a plot they would like to try out? I was milling over a natural disaster of some sort.. and zombie takeover, but nothing else magical related.

Any thoughts?

Here's some random ideas (not sure if they'd be enough to sustain a whole site-wide plot)

Everybody switches bodies due to some weird magical storm (or something less lame) -
so I'd be RPing as someone else's character within my body. This would be easier co-ordinated if we partnered up. So for example, I could partner up with Val, so I'd be RPing as "Val" in Mason's body & she'd be RPing as "Mason" in Val's body. We could have fun exploring different personalities to our regular characters within different bodies & if we're closely partnered up, we can work together so no one does anything drastic to someone else's character.
Evil twins from the future -
This might require creating a temporary duplicate account for each participating character, but we have two of each character: Our usual character and an opposite version (mainly evil, but the already darker characters could have a nicer version) and we have to defeat them.
"No more Magic" Someone casts a spell to make everyone else lose their abilities to perform magic. Is it permanent? Can it be reversed?

Perhaps a school tournament ? Sort of a mix of a scavenger hunt, some duels, flying and potion knowledge.

A school field trip where the students get separated from the teachers, Both groups lost in unknown terrain ?


A break out of love potion launching the school into utter chaos ? (idk if its much of a plot but it's hectic.)


A hurricane hits the school demolishing most of it forcing everyone to transfer to another school temporarily ?

Maybe a rebellion from some of the beasts around the school ?

Maybe the school becomes haunted and the unknown terrorizes.

There is a problem with azkaban and the criminals must be housed in the school?

Gringotts send word in need of help, Asking Hogwarts for assistance?

Something is destroying wands of witches and wizards sucking the magic away and needs to be stopped before everyone else is endangered?

Perhaps a problem with time forcing the day to repeat itself over and over.

Vampires in need take sanctuary in the school due to an uprising of attacks ?

It's all I can think of at the moment ^-^ They would be a lot of work and a lot of fun i think.

Great plot ideas both of you! I'll be thinking of stuff in the future to start some threads!

Piggy backing off of one of Nicky's ideas with Gringott's, we're getting close to St. Patrick's Day. What if we had a rather greedy Leprechaun stealing gold from the bank?

And perhaps tie it in with House Slytherin as their symbols is a serpent/snake. Good ol' St. Paddy drove them out of Ireland. If we can get Rosie to post, could be interesting.

I've been thinking about a Potions field trip that is actually all students/faculty. I won't give out too much details since it'll be more fun this way.... lol

Ok, I had another idea. I mentioned it slightly in one of my Dear EH, posts. I commented that when ever I see the previews for "How to Train Your Dragon", the dragon reminds me of mine & Sadie's cat, Jasper (aka Temperance). They're both black and have those green eyes. Plus seem to be extremely friendly, curious, & cute.

What if poor little Temperance got a hold of some sort of potion or something and she turned into a dragon. Nothing evil or monstrous, but just a dragon with the mind of a playful cat. Thoughts?

Now a kitty turned dragon sounds phenomenal! <---Creature enthusiast at heart.

These plot ideas are fantastic, it's so good to see so much creativity and clearly there's so much more to explore on the site!

I was wondering if you were looking for more of a site-wide plot? in a similar manner to how it was in earlier years (In Defiance of the past etc). Because we haven't had a big sitewide plot like that since 'The Replacement' am I right? It would be great to have a huge plot like that again and would be amazing if there were some dark undertones :) Where would Rowling's world be without evil wizards? - They're detrimental to the story! I think it'd be great if we could work on some new bad guys for the school to fight.

I was working on something for an EH site wide plot, and then real life got in the way, but I'll have more time on my hands when placement finishes, so I can put some more thought into it. Also I'll need to run it by the other admins.

Well there could be a massive breakout at azkaban, Thom could flee to hogwarts with evil wizards and witches and dementors and ministry agents hot on his heels.

Or Loki could be having an upcoming match, And the rival team hires a few mercenaries to go after those closest to him.

That's all I could think of for the moment. ;D
