View Full Version : The Intervention

Professor Miranda Loveless
21-07-2010, 02:23 AM
It had been several days after the incident in the library. Miranda's arrival to the scene was late and had she gotten there sooner, she would have stopped Kel from getting stabbed. However, it would not have changed this situation. She was going to talk with Montgomery, Sho'Chira, & the Prefect. Some resolution was going to come of the matter. She was going to find out why Trall took the course of action she did.

The entirety of House Ravenclaw was excused from the Tower for the day. Miranda spoke with the Head Mistress and saw to it that they all spend some time in Hogsmeade...far away from this particular conversation. Only those that needed to be there would be in the know. The common room was quiet and the only noise was the sound of a fire going. Miranda arranged two chairs to be facing the couch. She would sit in one, while the Prefect took the other.

She sat there, looking at Lucas & Trall. It seemed like Yin & Yang, Light & Dark, Cold & Hot.

"I don't see any reason to delay any further, so we'll begin. I want to know what exactly is going on here. Why did you feel it necessary to attack a student with a muggle blade, Trall?"

Trall Sho'chira

Trall sat there staring forwards, she had been in the library before she was conned into this meeting. She had decided it was unnecessary and somewhat meaningless. Unfortunately for the professor there was very little she could do to make an impression on her.

She weighed the possible methods of punishment corporal punishment was generally out of the question for Hogwarts, but she could take it. She didn't care for house points; If they threw her out she could survive, if they banned her from the library she would find ways to get books. Her weak spot for once seemed to be sitting next to her, he knew about her only valued possession. He also knew about Lucy, even then he didn't know the final thing.

Either way she realised there was a potential to finding alot about about Lucas, at the moment it seemed there were possibilities all of which could all be explained entirely differently and cause entirely separate response's. He could blurt everything out, lie for her, or just keep his mouth shut completly.

Lucy was safely recoiling in the back of her head crying her eyes out like a small child that couldn't have ice-cream. Trall coldly replied in monotone with no emotion.

"Because I didn't have my wand."

Lucas Montgomery

Lucas sat and listened to Loveless speak. He feared that this would be a shouting match at some point. Or worse, Trall or Lucy would do something drastic like what was done in the library. He could only hope Loveless was quick on the draw to put a stop to it. He wasn't sure what Rose could bring to the table, but he felt weird having to air this dirty laundry in front of her.

Loveless' first question was quick and to the point. However, Trall countered with a response in the same fashion. He had the sudden feeling that this was going to be a long afternoon. Trall & Loveless would be butting heads all day with a Q&A session.

"Professor Loveless, if I may," Lucas interjected, "I have her wand. I took it from her after she became irrational one day."

Lucas looked to his blind house mate and wondered what was going through her mind. Was it Trall in control? Or was Lucy good at acting?

Professor Miranda Loveless
21-07-2010, 09:14 PM
Loveless shot Lucas a look that easily said, shut up. The questions were not pointed at him...yet. Though the information he provided did enlighten her as to why Trall used a blade. It also told her that Lucas has or had been keeping an eye on the blind girl for a time. She was prone to some sort of outbursts that were not escalating.

"You didn't have your wand?" she said as though she needed clarification, but really didn't. "I can only hope that by having your wand, you weren't going to use it in a stabbing capacity," she said with a scoff.

"What did you hope to accomplish by attacking, Kel? Your actions have the Head Mistress concerned."

Trall Sho'chira
21-07-2010, 10:36 PM
Trall thought about why she had done it this after the event, which was unusual; usually everything was planned and would have been able to answer the question instantly.

This is not to say there wasn't reason, there were several reasons, but none of which presented as the logical argument to attack. During her time on the floor she had come to the conclusion that she had made a measured argument for and against an attack; she then attacked without waiting for the answer. It was this behaviour that made her realise that Trall and Lucy were once again becoming the same person; of course this wasn't exactly something she wanted to explain to the professor.

She spoke in short leaving out as much information as possible.

"I felt threatened and defenceless."

Lucas Montgomery
22-07-2010, 05:28 PM
Lucas wanted to slap his forehead with the palm of his head as if in some comedic movie. What was Trall, or Lucy, saying? Defenseless? Threatened? No one would but that. Loveless was no idiot. The girl was stalling for time or hoping the Charms Mistress would grow frustrated and call the whole meeting off due to the lack of participation.

Lucas gritted his teeth, but he didn't know how much longer he was going to remain silent. At some point, Loveless was going to ask him some questions and he was going to just let it all come spilling out. He wanted to do it now, but angering the Head of House was not on his list of things to get done today. He looked over at Rose, hoping she'd say something. Maybe ask a question.

Professor Miranda Loveless
23-07-2010, 02:58 AM
Miranda felt her palm come up to her face in a bit of frustration. The blind girl was either trying to stall or make the professor give up this question & answer session. However, Trall didn't know Loveless very well and the Charms Mistress was rarely daunted.

"Defenseless? From what? I spoke with the nurse and Henderson while you were unconscious. The only things exchanged were words," she said narrowing her eyes. "And Montgomery attempted to handle the matter diplomatically. Yet you still lunged at the boy with a knife."

Miranda took a deep breath and composed herself. She was going to get through to this girl and find out what was going on. The irrational actions of Trall made the Charms Mistress wonder how the Sorting Hat placed her in this house. She wondered if the hat was going senile...if it were possible.

"Perhaps I should point the questions towards, Mr. Montgomery? Maybe he can give me more information. Like why he's hidden your wand? Unless you'd like to elaborate on why a fellow house mate would do such a thing?"

Trall Sho'chira
24-07-2010, 05:12 PM
It wasn't that Trall was atempting to stall the conversation or end it, she just failed to see how it was neccasary. She was bored, more than anything else, due to the lack of neccessaty.

"The level of animosity within the conversation had raised to a level where past experience has taught me spells will be cast. In situations such as that I must act first, otherwise I would be in danger of potentially serious injury and completly unable to prevent it. Even if I had my wand and even if he voiced the spell I would have little chance to defend myself. I made my strike because of fear accumilated by intimidation. If I had my wand the attack would have been alot more suttle a simple stunning spell would have sufficed, but unfortunatly that choice was closed off to me. The attack I made needed to incapacitate the potential attacker immediatly, before he could attack me. I beleive Lucas removed my wand because he felt it would remove a danger not only to myself but to other students. I also think he has become acustom to my personality, in particular my abillity to overcome my disadvantage and lost sight of the fact that my disadvantage remains."

Lucas Montgomery
24-07-2010, 09:51 PM
Finally, Lucas couldn't hold his tongue anymore. Trall's little diatribe pushed Lucas over the edge.

"Oh please! If you knew an unforgivable curse, you might have cast it!" Lucas said accusingly. "I took your wand away because you can be a loose cannon with it!"

Lucas wasn't sure if his words were the wisest to say, but he had to get it off his chest. "I don't know what is wrong with you lately, Trall, but you seem to thrive on drama & madness lately. I can't be your watch-dog or protector."

Trall Sho'chira
24-07-2010, 10:42 PM
Trall remained silent for a moment to see if the Professor had something to say, she dipped her head and continued to speak calmly.

"Lucas you know I know unforgiveable curses and Equally, Kel could have cast an unforgiveable spell on me. I would apreciate the abillity to make the decision for myself, your protection whilst is greatly apreciated it is not entirely neccasary at all times."

She knew she had been unstable recently and it had been getting increasingly worse, she knew why it was and what caused it, but she could not risk looseing it.

Lucas Montgomery
27-07-2010, 12:32 AM
Lies. Lies & slander. That's all Lucas could think in his head. Kel wouldn't have done such a thing. Perhaps Finn might have, but not Kel. Lucas scoffed and looked to Miranda for support & guidance on this. He had his fill of the blind girl's logic. It was either Trall or Lucy talking and Lucas wanted to saying something.

"Now which voice inside your head dictated this logic?" Lucas said in anger. He never specified another side named Lucy, but implied the girl might be just a little loony.

"And for the record, you're not getting your wand back. Especially after this."

Professor Miranda Loveless
27-07-2010, 01:10 AM
Miranda watched the two students bicker back and forth and she rolled her eyes. Not one of her more attractive qualities, but it was out of annoyance on her part. It was clear what was going on here, or at least what she could perceive. Lucas and Trall seemed to be having some sort of lover's quarrel. It was an odd couple to say the least, but she had seen stranger things.

"That's enough out of the both of you!" she blurted out in frustration. "Ms. Sho'chira, your actions are still inexcusable. And it pains me to say this, but House Ravenclaw will lose 30 points for this," she said with a heavy sigh. "A cooler head should prevail. If it doesn't, you'll find yourself out of this school quite quickly."

She then jerked her head to Lucas immediately after finishing her threat to Trall. "Mr. Montgomery, I think it best you return Ms. Sho-chira's wand. I will not abide by this obstruction of knowledge. I understand you wished for yours and her safety, but coming to a professor would have been a simpler answer."

She looked at the two of them and sighed again. "I'd say kiss and make up, but I don't need to see that. Put your lover's quarrel aside."

Trall Sho'chira
27-07-2010, 01:31 AM
Trall accepted every word; it would be useful to have her wand back again; she had expected more from Loveless than to put it down to a lovers quarrel but it met the same ends. She lost interest of the consequences and gaining her wand, they were relativley insigniifcant; Professor Loveless had just made an interesting point.

"Tell me professor; is it comendable to throw a student onto the streets for looseing her temper without consideration of the circumstance's; forgive me but you clearly stated I would be expelled on the grounds of not keeping a cool head. In which case for example, if I was to act in the position of a particular situation that caused an engrossed emotional response due to negative stimulous I would be expelled; even within an extreme circumstance someone of great usefullness and admiration; let's say you, were in a potentially fatal capacity? Would I be dammed to expulsion for atempting to save your life?. If this is the case then I would expect the same conditions to all student's, which undermines the whole school does it not?"

It was a genuine question; she wasn't trying to make an impression or undermine the professor, she saw a hole in her philosphy which required explanation.

Lucas Montgomery
27-07-2010, 01:57 AM
Lucas felt his jaw drop when he heard Loveless' assumption of the situation. A lover's quarrel? Was she mad? He and Trall were not an item. She was a friend, despite the mental instability, and nothing more. Though, Lucy's sway made him do things with Trall that he never would have considered. They had kissed, but it wasn't Trall at the helm. Lucy's powers of persuasion were great and Lucas found them hard to resist.

He leaned forward and was about to object to Loveless' accusation, but found Trall had beaten him to the punch with another question. He sat back and stayed silent. It gave him time to reflect on this. His heart did not belond to Trall. In fact, Lucas was quite sure it belonged to someone whom he first shared it with. However, he did care for Trall, but feelings were something he just didn't see himself having.

Though he wondered if the girl had some sort of compassion towards her. Trall was not an ugly girl. But she was unkempt and always put off a creepy vibe towards people. Her empty gray eyes, while not alluring, drew you in and they were hard to look away from. Yes, he could find beauty in the girl, but her contempt for...well...anything made her quite unattractive. But there was a human being in there...and a faint connection to his mother. Perhaps compassion was something she needed to feel more often. The only risk was Lucy.

Lucas reached over and took Trall's hand into his. "Trall, I think Professor Loveless is trying to say that if it were another teacher, there would be no conversation. We should be thankful House Points are the only thing lost."

Trall Sho'chira
28-07-2010, 10:42 AM
Trall felt Lucas's hand and listened to his explanation, this was the Lucas she was previously accustom to, but she couldn't help but wonder why after what she had done. She furrowed her eyebrow at him; she knew because of Lucy's actions she had gained enemies. They were useful in the respect that they provided a distraction for Lucy, but they also drew alot of attention to Trall and her dealings with the Orb.

She wasn't quite sure about how a teacher would have held lucy back because Lucy was in her head and didn't care if Trall got thrown from the school.

"My appologies Professor, but in future I would apreciate if you explained threats a little more clearly."

Lucas's hand suddenly felt strange to her, it felt warm, her hand gentally and automatically caressed it, a warm and alien feeling shot through her body, an emotional response. She sqaushed it and sharply removed her hand, she couldn't help but to consider one of her goals aligned with the Professors and Lucas's. Somehow between them they needed to control Lucy and they had to do it without the Professor knowing.

"Professor I realise things got out of hand and that it made it difficult for you to perform you job; for this I am sorry and I respect that there is much I have to learn from you."

She realised she had to make alli's and finally acepted that she had lost the abillity to control Lucy by herself. She considered the closest thing she had ever had to an alli Lucas and how he had behaving recently. She knew he was looseing patence and considered that she had almost lost him, there was another emotional response, again squahed, but she couldn't help considering how difficult it had been for him and how he had managed to continue helping her.

Professor Miranda Loveless

Miranda was slightly confused by this change in attitude. The girl's personality was as fickle as the wind and Miranda had no interest in trying to figure it out. For now, it seemed the situation would resolve itself. However, she still had to tell the Head Mistress of this attack. She was certain a heavier punishment would come down the line, but she would make sure expulsion was not an option.

"Very good, Ms. Sho'chira. I trust you and Mr. Montgomery will like some time to discuss what happened," Miranda said getting up to excuse herself. "Ravenclaw has a great time to shine with two of our own as Head Boy & Girl. Please...no more blemishes."

Miranda turned and motioned towards the door.

Lucas Montgomery

For a moment, Trall seemed to reciprocate his attempt at compassion. It made him smile for a moment. Perhaps he had a break through with the blind girl. Maybe something inside her clicked and made her realize that she was human being that people cared for. However, any and all hope of that vanished the moment he felt Trall snatch her hand away from Lucas'.

Then the cold and calculating girl he recognized shined through. It appeared that she was willing to consent to what he and Loveless said. He watched as the Professor motioned to the door and he nodded. Turning to Trall, Lucas wasn't sure what to say. He knew she had to be caving to all of this to save her own neck and truthfully, Lucas was relieved by this. While he knew most people in his own house would be glad to see Trall gone, her absence would leave him with a question that wasn't answered.

"Are you going to be alright?" he finally said to Trall. He was fully prepared for the girl to respond with her usual tone.

Trall Sho'chira
05-08-2010, 12:03 AM
Trall followed Lucas out, contemplating the next move, when he said
"Are you going to be alright?" She asked herself had whether he become aware her flash of weakness; it was certanly possible. She considered that Lucas wanted her weak, possibly to make his position as head boy easier, but then again he had expressed concern of her well being before. It bothered her greatly and she needed to know, before decideing whether she needed him, or she just wanted him.

She had to either respond with some form of recognition of his concern, begin to twist his mind an manipulate him to her benefit, carry on as before, or do both.

"Lucas, before I answar tell me why you care If I'm alright or not?"

Lucas Montgomery
05-08-2010, 12:30 AM
Lucas stopped and looked at Trall. Her curiosity made him a little suspicious. Was she looking for a hidden meaning in his words? If she was, why? He was genuinely concerned or at least that's what he believed. Perhaps there was a selfish motivation with the orb and any connection to his mother. As of now, Lucas needed to know Trall was in the right frame of mind and not going to do anything else foolish.

"I'm concerned for you, Trall," Lucas said taking a deep breath. "Not just as a housemate, but as a friend."

Lucas wasn't entirely convinced that Trall was a "friend" like Bear & Sadie were, but he knew that of all the students at Hogwarts, he was the closest friend she had. He wanted that kind of compassion to shine through to her.

"So I ask again. Are you alright?" he said taking a step closer to her.

Trall Sho'chira
05-08-2010, 12:47 AM
Trall realised that he hadn't really been paying attention ages ago when she told him about emotions and how they should be avoided. His reply seemed to make sense, it may not be entirely true but it seemed he beleived it to be true. Trall also considered that Lucas had never really lied to her and she had no reason to distrust him, she took away her wand, but it was for the same reason.

She waited for the sound of Professor Loveless leaving the room, then paused listening for any hushed breathing; they were alone.

"No Lucas; I'm not fine and I'm pretty certain you know why."

Lucas Montgomery
05-08-2010, 12:56 AM
Lucas looked at Trall and felt his heart race for a second. Her words had sent a chill up his spine. She had to be talking about the Orb. Then again, was it the appearance of this "Lucy" persona. He wasn't sure which but he had to take a guess. He figured it had to be because of the Orb. It was the one thing that put dark and hollow thoughts into his head.

"It's because of Lucy, isn't it?" he said realizing that wasn't what he meant to say. His eyes grew wide, but he realized Trall couldn't gauge his facial reaction.

"I'm sorry, Trall. It's either her or the Orb....or....I...don't know," he said with a sigh. "I just know I want to help you."

Lucas felt his hand reaching out to touch Trall's cheek and stopped just a few inches from her face.

Trall Sho'chira
05-08-2010, 01:03 AM
Trall knew he was close but she wasn't aware of his hand inches from her face.

"To put it simply, yes it's Lucy, she's getting smarter and stronger than I am, for exmple; I decided to ignore that my wand had gone missing. I had a good idea that you had taken it, but so did Lucy, at the time I htought nothing of it, but the reason she did it was so that we though she was un armed. Then of course she attacked Kel; my current problem is that I am looseing the abillity to control her and I cannot conceive out how?"

Lucas Montgomery
05-08-2010, 01:14 AM
Lucas pulled his hand back at these words. It have never occurred to him that this scenario could happen. This other person inside of Trall's mind was a wild card and she was clearly bothered by it. Loss of control was not something he knew how to address however. He had never known anyone who suffered from a mental disorder like this.

"I don't know, Trall. I don't know how you can keep a lid on her. Do you encounter her in your own mind? Can you reason with her at all?" Lucas said unsure of what to say.

"You always warned me she was dangerous and I didn't listen. I'm sorry, Trall," Lucas said with sigh. "She's alluring and hard to resist."

Trall Sho'chira
05-08-2010, 01:33 AM
If Trall had feeling's she would slpa herself in the forehead, he was obviously flustered by the anouncement.

"Lucas calm yourself advice was requested not more questions and appolgies are futile."

That was another thing Lucy had locked inside her, the part of Trall that enjoyed pointless cruelty; it was more likely that she would torture someone first.

"I'm not sure if I encounter her, its very difficult to keep track when your looseing your mind I know she can't be reasoned with. She's in my head so whilst she is someone else she is also me, as a result she's removing my stronger tendancies."

Lucy was of course aware of everything that was going on, she knew that Trall was asking for help; Trall had become weak, when her mind split she lost the only things that made her strong.

"The problem is that I can't keep her down, something happens just before she takes over she seems to aquire strength from nowhere. Do you recall times where you knew Lucy was in control, in particular the exact point where she took control. The situation we were in and what was happening."

Lucas Montgomery
05-08-2010, 01:41 AM
Lucas thought very carefully about what Trall was asking for. Usually, he found that when Lucy was present, he was present. Lucas hoped that wasn't the case...that he wasn't the trigger for Lucy to appear. Though it did make sense.

"I honestly don't know the precise moment, Trall. I know that when she's about, she treats me as if we were long lost lovers or something of that nature," Lucas said feeling himself blush over it. It was odd to think that a product of someone's mind could react one way to his presence.

"Do you remember anything before it happens? The last couple of times, our hands have been held," Lucas spoke feeling a knot in his stomach.

"We even kissed once..." he said quietly. "It was actually rather nice."

Lucas wasn't sure if Trall was aware of this fact or not. But he needed to mention it. What ever the response she would have, he'd deal with the consequences.

Trall Sho'chira
05-08-2010, 01:52 AM
This was all news to Trall, she had been vaguely aware of what was going on but obviously most of the important details had been kept from her.

"It sounds like you have a strong influence on her and she's got a strong influence on you."

She thought about what he said about holding hands and kissing, for a moment she was curious, but this wasn't a time to explore whimsical curiosity. It certantly suggested that Lucas was the cause , but it couldn't have been, it didn't make sense.

"You held my hand earlier and there wasn't even the slightest hint of her. I am aware of the violence as I seem to have some form of influence on her, probably to do with my previous violent capacity. I was not aware of this apprent affection, you said she kissed you what else has she done?"

Lucas Montgomery
05-08-2010, 09:35 PM
Lucas was surprised that Trall didn't scream him stupid or take a swipe at him. Her analytical nature suggested that she wasn't upset by these actions. Which was a relief to him. Before Lucy became a strong influence, Trall would have slapped Lucas for even reciprocating a kiss or held hands. Taking a moment to breath a sigh of relief, Lucas had the opportunity to reflect on Trall's question.

"To my knowledge, that was it. You and I..." Lucas started but corrected himself. "Er...Lucy & I never did anything beyond that."

Lucas wished he could answer the girl's question a little better. Sadly, Lucy's appearances were a coin toss. There were times he couldn't tell who was who. Like when he was at the hospital. Wait...who did come to visit him at St. Mungo's?

"Well...there was the time I was in St. Mungo's. You came to visit, though I don't know if it was you or Lucy. I remember a slight fire breaking out as you left my room."

Trall Sho'chira
05-08-2010, 09:55 PM
Trall wasn't paticualry interested in what Lucas had done and why, first she needed to learn a bit more about Lucy.

"Lucas, ask yoursefl why on earth would I set fire to something, had I done it there would be a good reason. That was a long time when I had much more control, but yes Lucy was the one that ultimatly set the door on fire, was there any reason for it or was it apprently random?"

Lucy was now laughing in the back of her head remininsing about good times, when Trall and herself agreed on things a little more.

"You need to talk to her, right now and then tell me some more about her; can you remember anything that might bring her up?"

Lucas Montgomery
05-08-2010, 10:08 PM
Lucas wasn't sure he liked where this was going. Was Trall serious? She wanted him to make Lucy come out? What was to say Lucy wouldn't permanently stay put? This was dangerous considering what could happen. However, just about all the Ravenclaws were excused from the dorm for this meeting.

"I don't know, Trall," Lucas said trying to think of a reason to delay this. Then he blurted out what could also have an effect. "You or Lucy had something about needing to use the orb. Blood in it. But I don't know that's what would bring her out," Lucas said hesitantly.

Another idea was that he do something that Trall would hate yet Lucy would love while he would have mixed feelings on the matter. Lucas walked up to Trall and then circled behind her. Leaning in, he whispered in the girl's ear.

"Lucy, if you're there...I really would like to see you right now," he said as if they were an intimate couple. "I miss you. I need you to help me." He had brought his hand up and caressed the opposite side of Trall's face.

Lucas felt slightly sick to his stomach doing this. Not because of the girl in front of him, but what could happen afterwords. He could only hope that the only reaction would be that Trall spun around to slap him. He took a step back and waited.

Trall Sho'chira
05-08-2010, 10:24 PM
Trall continued to stare at him blankly.

"Lucas if it was that easy then hogwarts probably wouldn't be standing."

Trall reflected on her own comment, it almost had a sense of humor, she coughed and straigtened out her clothes hopeing Lucas hadn't noticed.

"Whenever it has happened she has always forced herself out; Iv'e felt her screaming inside me before I loose control; you need to make her feel as if she absoloutly must come out. Wait thats it, you need to force emotion on us; do you have your wand with you?"

Lucas Montgomery
05-08-2010, 10:43 PM
Lucas was a little disappointed that his actions had no effect on Trall or Lucy. He was uncertain what she meant by her comment, but Lucas decided it best that his effort didn't work. With how things usually went around the school, there was this consistent theme about bad timing. All of the students would return as Lucy came to the surface and did something that would put him in an awkward position.

Then Trall had a revelation. Wait thats it, you need to force emotion on us; do you have your wand with you?"

Lucas didn't really think about his next actions as he pulled out his wand to show the girl. After a few moments of awkward silence, he realized Trall clearly couldn't see what was in his hand. Feeling rather stupid, Lucas responded to the blind girl's question.

"Yes, Trall. I have my wand. How will this help?" he asked cautiously. There was no way he was going to let her use it knowing he locked her wand.

Trall Sho'chira
05-08-2010, 10:52 PM
Trall wasn't sure if Lucas would comply from here on, but she knew it would be the most effective way.

"Well I an attack or a preminition of an attack would cause me to feel threatened but, the problem is that I trust you to much. So casting any old spell or attacking me with schoolyard curse's probably won't do the trick. You need to dig up some of my old memories, you need to stand above me as if you were my father and torture me."

She knew that Lucas probably wouldn't be comfortable with the idea, but she had to know.

"And remember you need to want to do it, you need to strike with venom and no remorse. I am un-armed and there is nothing I or Lucy can do to seriously hurt you."

Lucas Montgomery
05-08-2010, 11:00 PM
Lucas stood there with his mouth wide open in shock. Was Trall serious? He couldn't do that to her. At least, at the present moment. There were times he wanted to do something out of spite, but nothing like make the girl suffer. This couldn't be the right way to make Lucy come out and play.

"Trall...I...I don't know that I can do this," Lucas said in shock. "I can't torture you. I don't know any curses that are remotely like that."

The blind girl would have to make a very convincing argument for him to do something like this. It was one thing to cast a jinx or spell at a person who could see it coming, but at a girl who couldn't even see him or was armed.

"This in of itself is torture, Trall."

Trall Sho'chira
05-08-2010, 11:12 PM
Trall was almost dissapointed in Lucas, a Ravenclaw that hadn't learned things simply because he had been told not to.

"Lucas, myself and by proxy Lucsy aswel know the unforgiveable curses. Consider that if you don't we won't solve this problem Lucy will get worse and worse and Lucy would have no problem torturing you and killing dozens."

Lucas hadn't realised how dangerous Lucy could be and he still hadn't seen the beggining of what she was capable of; Trall had to make it clear to him.

"Even if you keep my wand from me she will find ways to hurt people, you need to do this Lucas. If you really don't know the spell I'm sure theres reference's to it in the bookshelves in here."

Lucas Montgomery

Lucas began to feel his heart race. He wanted to help Trall, but using an unforgivable curse? Surely the ministry would know if he used it, wouldn't they? He would lose his title as Head Boy and be kicked out of the school. Worse, they could put him in Azkaban with Thomas. There was no way Lucas was going to do this.

However, he could think of something else to use. Perhaps hurling something at Trall? Maybe knocking her into the wall. Anything than using the Crucio curse. He began to see a motivation to do it it was just a matter of not taking it too far.

"I won't use anything unforgivable, Trall. However, I wouldn't underestimate me because of that," Lucas said raising his wand. "If you want her out so bad, then fine. Let's do this," he said pointing his wand at her.

Before he cast at Trall, he tried to think of something that would justify this action. The only thing that came to mind was the incident at the Hospital...and what she did to Kel; Right in front of Finn too. She was the last person he wanted to have seen that attack since she was Seth's little trollop. This angered him.

"Flipendo!" he shouted feeling the blast from his wand. If anything she should be knocked back into the wall. It was a start.

Trall flew backwards and smacked into the wall, she slumped forwards breathed out. Then cricked her neck, lifted her right knee and pulled herself up to her full hieght.

Her eyebrows furrowed; Lucas had betrayed her it was time she taught him a real lesson. She reached for her wand which wasn't there and then for her knife which wasn't there, she was so angry she needed to vent. Her hands began to tremble with anger she screwed them into fists to control them and gritted her teeth. She silently made her way over to Lucas and stood directly infront of him breathing heavily through gritted teeth.

Her hands grasped at his face and she began pressing here thumbs into his eyes she screamed at him.

"Attack a defenceless girl will you! You are going to feel my pain, you are going to be as hopeless to defend yourself as I am!"

Lucas felt bad about hitting Trall with a spell, but he was playing by her rules. Or at least as close to her rules as possible. Her game was never a fun one to play. He sighed and then lowered his wand once the girl hit the ground. It was a mistake to do so. The blind girl was on her feet lunging at him in a the blink of an eye.

Her fingers were pressing into his eyes and he began to yell out in pain. He struggled under the girls weight on him and couldn't force her off of him. His hand was still on his wand, but he couldn't move it in between the two of them to stop her.

"Stop it!" he shouted. He knew he shouldn't have done this. He had no idea if it was Lucy or Trall attacking him now but he had to put the lid on this Pandora's Box. He brought his wand up and pointed it at Trall's torso.

"Incarcerous!" he shouted. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw ropes coming from his wand and at Trall. He hoped they would bind her.

The ropespulled her from Lucas and began to bind her to the chair she had just been sitting in when the professor was present. She continued to grip Lucas's head for as long as she could pulling him to the chair; the ropes clasped around her arms and pulled them from Lucas.

As soon as she was seated she shook the chair and struggled against the ropes; the chair tipped over on its side. She crashed onto the floor, the carpet pressed against her face like hundres of tiny needles. She lay there bearing her teeth curseing Lucas with every breath.

Lucas fell to the ground after being dragged for a couple of feet as a result of the spell. Praise Merlin that it worked. However, Trall was now tied to a chair laying on the ground cursing and writhing like a wounded animal. It was almost chilling to see her act like this. But it couldn't have been her. It had to be Lucy doing this.

"I'm sorry I did that to you Trall, but I had no choice," Lucas said hoping to gauge who was really at the helm of Trall's body.

He stood up and pointed his wand at the blind girl in case she was able to get away. He didn't trust anything at this point. "Curse all you want, I'm not letting you go until you calm down."

There was nothing she could do; Lucy unfortunatly had never calmed down before each time she had been knocked out before she had chance.

"Shut up you twerp, we both know you can't keep me here indefinatly and I'm not going to calm down just because you want me to. Why don't you just do what everyone wants and kill me, it will be quick and easy; hell you will probably gain some house point I bet your mummy would be so proud."

It was now clear to Lucas who was in control. His only problem now was what to do with the girl. How could he put Trall back in control? She never set up instructions on how to do that. He was now stuck with Lucy who was showing clear signs that she was indeed dangerous. The allure of Lucy was fading quickly as she spat insults at Lucas.

Then, Lucy spoke of Lucas' mother...implying she'd be pleased with such a cowardly act. Lucas stood there shaking with anger. He could feel the grip on his wand tighten. He began to raise the wand in her direction completely unaware of that he was doing such a thing.

"How dare you," he hissed. He felt himself taking a step closer to her.

"There was no kinder person than my mother. She would never approve of such a thing."

Lucy smiled, she had struck a nerve it pleased her, she wasn't so angry but much more playfull to see how far she could push Lucas. Her curses turned into a breathly laugh; Lucas thought he had her in the palm of his hand. Lucy realised it was the other way around. He couldn't hurt her because of his mother and if he did bring himself to hurt her It would only provide further entertainment.

"Iv'e met your mother Lucas, she was talented but weak, pathetic in fact. She died squeeling like a pig."

His hand was now shaking while holding his wand. Lucy's words couldn't be true. She was just saying things to torment him. He refused to believe it. He moved closer and pointed the wand in her face.

"Shut up!" he yelled. If this sort of thing had kept up, other students from Ravenclaw were surely to come back and see this. It would not be an idea situation for the Head Boy to be caught in.

"I'll hear no more! You couldn't have been there and stop talking like you know me. You know nothing!" he yelled.

Lucas was almost blinded with anger. He wanted to show Lucy he meant business but couldn't force his own hand to do it. It would bring him down to her level.

Lucy could hear emotional torment in his voice she enjoyed it, it was rare to observe human nature like this and she took every oppotunity she could.

"On the contrary Lucas I know it all."

She knew she had his attention there was no need to force the torment into him, it would be much better to let curiosity settle in, so he could find the torment himself. If curiosity didn't kick in then all she needed to do was keep pushing his buttons.

"I know she died in her shop; I know who killed her and I know why. I know the feelings that flowed through her body with her final breath."

Lucas Montgomery

"Lies!" was all Lucas could shout.

But they couldn't be lies. How did Lucy know where his mother died? He never told Trall. Perhaps she read it in the blood paper. Read it in the paper? She's bloody blind, he thought to himself. It was impossible for her to know this information. Yet, she was laying there on the floor gloating over him with such knowledge.

"You can't possibly know that! How?" he bellowed the girl. His wand still pointed at the girl. As much as he wanted to cast something, he couldn't hurt the girl. He moved his wand from the girl's head to the floor. "Flagrate!" he cast and watched as a few scorch marks hit the floor near her head.

"Did you feel the heat from that?" he hissed. "I could burn the hair off of your head. Not that it would matter. Everyone will still talk badly of you..." he said with venom.

"...hair, eyes, personality...it's all the same to them. No one likes you."

Lucy felt the blast, there was no fear she was enjoying listening to Lucas fall apart. She felt empowered, but then again she always had because she knew there was nothing they could do to her. She laughed out loud at him and spoke almos sarcastically.

"Oh no Lucas nobody likes me boo hoo whatever will I do I tried ever so hard to be so popular."

Her voice changed back to a more serious tone.

"You can be very stupid Lucas, surely youv'e noticed I'm not so bothered about trivial social attributes, its weak and its why I'm hear because Trall can't handle it anymore."

She paused and thought to herself how she could really get to him.

"We both know your threat's are empty Lucas we both know you can't do it. You don't have the strengh or the need to hear my screams to smell my burning flesh. Just like your mother she didn't love you enough to fight for you and you don't love your mother enough to want revenge for what happened."

Lucas Montgomery
08-08-2010, 11:14 PM
Nothing he could say or threaten her with would work. Lucy was impervious to what ever insult, injury, or threat you could make. Lucas was at his wits end. Why did he go along with this plan to let the dog off the chain? He had no way of getting Trall back, or at least knew of a way to get her back.

But Lucy kept speaking ill of his mother. It was like a knife being driven deeper and deeper into his heart. He refused to believe anything she was saying. His mother loved him...he could not be convinced otherwise. Revenge was something he always thought of, but that was if he had a face to go with the killing. This little girl was not the one responsible.

Lucas put away his wand and loomed over the blind girl. "You've said enough about my mother, bitch."

In a quick motion, Lucas kicked Trall in the stomach swiftly. He looked down at the blind witch and felt a smile creep across his face. He had always wanted to kick Trall for being a cruel person, but he knew this wasn't the same. Lucas struggled and righted up the chair she was sitting in.

"You say you know about my mom's death? Then talk...otherwise, you've said enough."

Trall coughed with being kicked in the chest it winded her she sat slumped forward with her head hanging, but still that horrible smile drew across her face. He had obviously managed to control himself enough and turned away from setting her on fire as she had hoped. Her head slumped again and she breathed out short and sharply, a tear rolled down her face. Her voice quivered as a child.

"Lucas I'm so sorry for your loss I didn't know. I'm so sorry I didn't know."

Trall was back in her own head and feeling, she didn't tell him it was here because there was no point he probably wouldn't beleive her anyway.

Lucas was stunned. Did Trall's personality come back? How was that possible? He called her a bitch and kicked her in the stomach, yet Lucy seemed to be gone. He couldn't begin to understand how the blind girl's mind worked. It had to be a complete train wreck inside her head.

"Trall? Is that you?" he asked cautiously. He wanted to believe it was her, but Lucy was conniving. "I want to believe you."

He could see a tear coming down her face, but couldn't tell if it was from the pain of being kicked, or if she was truly sorry for everything that happened in the moments prior.

Trall was releaved he recognised her; she could only hope he was beggining to understand the difference between the two. She couldn't really proove herself to him because the two were constantly swapping and merging and detaching. It was becoming increasingly difficult for her to be able to recognise who she was herself.

"Yes Lucas it's me."

For Tralls standard she was overflowing with emotion, she could kiss him for pulling her out of the nightmare, but that was something that Lucy would do. She had to pretend to be herself; her condition was becoming increasingly difficult to cope with. She had to buck up and learn from her own example and squashed any feeling of releif, and pain; she sniffed took a deep breath and spoke in her useualy flat voice.

"I couldn't keep track of everything; I know she was playing with you Lucas. I wanted to stop her but I couldn't"

Trall realised by expressing she wanted to stop Lucy made her sound very unlike herself, there was still some emotion lingering.

Lucas pulled out his wand to undo the rope spell. He wasn't sure if this was the right course of action as it could very well be a trick. He took a few steps back and cast his wand. With a little distance he could still subdue the girl if necessary. The blast from his wand hit the ropes and they faded away.

"I hope that is you, Trall. 'Cause I can't do another round like that again."

Lucas waited to see what the blind girl would do. He wanted to go over and comfort her, but just couldn't do it until he knew for sure.

"Lucy spoke as if she knew about my mother's death...how is that possible?"

Trall Sho'chira

Trall had to fight the need to hug Lucas, there was a strange feeling to feel another human close to herself, she had never desiried it before it was very odd. The ropes dropped and Tralls arms moved to hug herself mainly for the feeling but partly due to the ropes and the kick to the chest. She didn't blame Lucas for it, maybe he had finally learned how warped Lucy really was.

"I always thought Lucy was a division of myself, but if she has these memories that I don't it suggests that she doesn't come from my mind, my mind alone that is."

Trall tried to remember when she had met Lucy, she couldn't remember a time without her, or the Orb for that matter. She thought back to the first time she spoke to Lucy, she remembered that Lucy used to speak to her from the Orb.

"If she did know about your mothers death she would have probably needed to be there. It would definatly explain why I have always imagined her as being older than me, like an older sister. I used to think I knew Lucy well but this is all very new to me. She could be creating a spin from someone else's memory, or she could have killed your mother herself, but that would suggest that there was a previous carrier and Lucy would be alot older. So In short I'm not sure if it's possible, but the possibillity would explain alot."

In the back of her mind she wandered why she was called Lucy in the first place, she certantly didn't name her.

Lucas, for the first time since the ordeal began, took a seat on the couch. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He was already emotionally drained from trying to wrangle Lucy in, but the suggestion Trall gave was earth-shattering. This personality in her mind might truly be connected to the death of his mother. But the new question was how did it get into her head?

"Trall...how?" he said unable to put his question into a complete sentence. "Where did she come from? How did she get into your head? Because if she is connected to my mother's death, I have to know," he said seriously.

Lucas had a theory as to where the other girl came from, but he didn't want to believe it. Though, he had been told it had a connection to his mother. Trall would have to confirm if it was indeed that bloody orb.

Trall Sho'chira
10-08-2010, 11:03 PM
Trall honestly couldn't remember where Lucy had come from, she knew it waas something to do with the Orb, but that was fairly obvious by now.

"Lucy was my freind as a child I thought she had been an imaginary freind until the Orb came back. I can remember talking to the Orb it told me things, things about the future, my father said it was because I was gifted at Divination. He said it was a crystal ball specially made for blind people, which wasn't the entire truth. It was made for another purpose and I connected to it better than he had."

She paused and thought to herself, she had never put the three together before, the Orb, Lucy and herself they had become one of the same physically and were becoming mentally.

"The Orb has been around alot longer than I have, when he was building it he realised to open the inner eye enough the user would need to be removed of any visual distractions. This included memories the only reason I'm alive is to unlock the secrets of the Orb, he blinded me at birth so I would be rid of visual stimulant for my entire life."

There was no emotion in her voice she always knew her father didn't love her, she had met him a handful of times in her life. He had kept her safely locked away from the rest of the world so that the two could exsist out of harms way without distractions. She stood up and began paceing the floor tapping her lip in deep contemplation.

"When I talked to Lucy, I had conversations I asked her about things that were going to happen and she told me. The predictions were basic such as when we were next going eat, what the weather would be that sort of thing. I can remember him asking me more serious questions such as when he was going to die and where would the next source come from. I don't remember ever answaring him these questions, but I'm sure Lucy does."

Lucas Montgomery
11-08-2010, 11:55 PM
Trall's description of the Orb was accurate. A dark crystal ball of sorts. It was one of the forms of Divination that Lucas never really had any luck at. His mother kept one for effect, but the cards were her skills. It made him realize that he needed to explore another avenue of his favorite subject. Hearing the description of what Trall's father had done, Lucas was horrified.

"That's awful, Trall. I'm sorry that your father did this to you," he said with some compassion. "I can't understand someone's motivations like that. They sound dark in nature..."

Lucas thought about this. Could it be possible that her father was quite the dark wizard? He would hope not. If so, the Orb had to leave the school immediately. It would mean the object was definitely dark in nature and he wanted nothing to do with it.

"Trall, we need to be rid of the Orb. It's affecting your mind and I'm afraid the dark properties of it could cause other problems. Plus, from the way it sounds, I would have to talk to Lucy again to find out what you and her talked about," he said nervously.

"I don't know that I'm ready to handle round two with her. I think we need to continue this discussion though. I have a feeling that...." Lucas started to say but stopped. He looked at Trall as though a light bulb went off.

"You said your father built the Orb? And when when I was in the hospital, you said that the Orb bleeds...his blood...and the blood of someone else."

Lucas had a terrible feeling in his stomach. "Who else could have blood in that Orb, Trall?"

Trall Sho'chira
12-08-2010, 12:20 PM
Trall couldn't let the Orb be taken away she needed it, Lucy was the only one she truly confided with and she needed to Orb to do that succefully. The Orb had and Lucy had been there her whole life, they had problems and fights and she knew Lucy was dangerous, but Lucy and the Orb had always been there like an older sister.

Lucas asked a question the Trall knew would eventually come to pass.

"Who else could have blood in that Orb, Trall?"

"I have found that the blood within the Orb is a mixture or not two but many. The names of each one are written in brail in my fathers diary par the last, the book was sent to me so I could learn who they are and bring forth there individual talents. The book also told of there position within society I found that all commonality reguarding there proficiency at divination. Some gave there blood willingly some didn't, the ones that didn't have no other record of exsisting at all. My father kept a very clean operation and all loose ends were tied, par one, which is why I have come to beleive the Orb has come back to me. I am suppposed to tidy up the final loose end the remaining links to the last source."

She had found out by process of elimination who the last was, she didn't want to tell him fearing what it would mean between them. She knew that the only one that could help her work with it was Lucas, the only other student of particullar divination talent.

Lucas got a vague answer from the blind girl and for the time being, it was enough for him. He had drawn his conclusions who that person could be. Trall had made many references to her father and his mother meeting. But the thought of her father using his mother's blood? There was only way to get it and would explain the who and whys of Fiona's murder. There were still some things left to be explained, however.

"Ok, Trall," Lucas said trying to remain calm. "I think we've hit a good stopping point for right now. I think we both need some rest. Lucy wore me out, and I'm only guessing she's done a number on you."

He looked up to the steps to get some rest and reflection. Sleep would help him focus. There was a huge school year ahead of him and this potential revelation could fracture his already weak psyche.

"I know you're capable, Trall...but...would you like an arm to guide you upstairs?"

Trall Sho'chira

She was releaved she had stopped him, but at the same time dissapointed; it had almost become a study session. She wanted to hit the books and solve the situation once and for all, but she could tell by the sound of Lucass's voice that it was enough.

"Your right Lucas, maybe now isn't the time to explore these things."

On the other hand Trall was going to her bed, where the Orb lay, wiating for her to reuturn and leak it's darkness into her.

"Yes please Lucas; it's always safer with an accomplace."

Lucas reached over and looped his arm under Trall's to help her up the steps. He was rather surprised she took his offer. Trall was always capable and usually sneered at any sign of pity. He can only guess the encounter with Lucy had exhausted her body as well as mind.

"Here we go," he said softly. "Do you want anything to help you sleep? I usually burn a nice piece of incense to help me relax."

Lucas guided the girl to the steps and took each of them slowly. It was one of the few times he was comfortable in the girl's presence. Lucy seemed to have humbled Trall with this past encounter...or so Lucas believed. If this was the Trall that people saw on a regular basis, people wouldn't steer clear of her in the halls.

Trall felt his arm tuck around hers and begin to draw up up the stairwell. She felt a little insulted by Lucas's almost parental comment.
"Here we go,"
She let it slide due to what she knew Lucy had done to him, it wasn't as if he meant to be condescending. She didn't mind being a little dependant on Lucas, she knew that whatever happened he had her best interests in mind. It was the others she couldn't trust.

"Do you want anything to help you sleep? I usually burn a nice piece of incense to help me relax."
The truth of the matter was that she it was Lucie's soft caring voice as she her the stories that were yet to unfold.

"No I will be fine thankyou Lucas"

Lucas nodded and then realized he needed to respond. Somehow, he managed to forget Trall's blindness again. Perhaps he had gotten used to it? Or maybe it was that Trall was very self sufficient despite her handicap.

"I understand. Get some rest then," he said softly. "We'll talk in the morning. We've got things coming up. I think Eva is planning a get together of some sort for the new positions people have acquired."

Lucas waited until Trall headed to her room. He felt very bad for the girl after realizing what her father had done to her. His reasoning for blinding Trall was irrational, disturbing, and misguided. The idea that blindness would help one's inner eye was absurd.

Trall tipped onto her toes and kissed Lucas lightly on the cheek before turning towards her room. It was just before bed time so Trall and Lucy were beggining to merge once again and her feelings were much closer to the surface. The Orb would suck them from her in a few hours and lock them up in the cataclism that was Lucy, putting Trall back into her cold, logical and stable self.

Just before she slipped into her room, she turned once again and curtseyed.

"Lucas you are a true gentleman and I have alot to thank you for, sleep well."

Lucas wasn't sure if that was Lucy slipping through or if it was just a humbled Trall. Either way, he smiled and let the girl head off to bed. He wasn't sure what would happen come the next day, but for now, a mystery was closer to being solved. One that he wasn't sure if he really wanted solved.

Heading into his room, Lucas opened a drawer and looked down to a pile of robes. He moved them aside and looked at Trall's wand hidden there. Perhaps he should return it to her soon. He carefully picked it up and looked at it. In Trall's hands, it was far more dangerous than the knife she had. Hearing Temperance meow at him, Lucas put the wand on top of the drawer and picked up his cat.

"Hello, little one. Our answers maybe coming soon," he said petting Temperance. He sat down on the bed and laid back with Temperance purring away in his lap. He gently dozed off and forgot about Trall's wand sitting on his drawer. Hopefully he'd remember to put it away in the morning.
