View Full Version : Too excited to even notice

Miley decided that the only way to meet anyone was to head to The Great Hall. She knew that anyone and everyone would have to be there at one point. Too excited to realize anything she clumsily tripped over her bag that was on the ground. "THUMP!" was all that was heard through the room. She turned bright red hoping that no one realized what has happened. She looked to her left and looked to her right and didn't see anyone. She quickly stood up, grabbed her bag and headed for a table.
She sat down looking around for someone to talk to. She noticed a few people but they were not paying attention. She got her diary out and started writing. Today, I already made a fool out of myself. I tripped over my own bag and made this really loud noise. An athletic girl like me should have seen things like this a mile away! Miley started writing frantically as she was beating herself up over what has happened.

Drachir wouldn't have noticed the new girl had she not tripped over her bag, he was to busy concentrating and the biscuit tower he had constructed. He was supposed to be meeting someone in the entrance hall after grabbing a mug of tea but got easily distracted.
The reason he noticed the thump was because it caused his tower to collapse, he looked over at the cause. It seemed to be a new student, a girl student, which made it ten times more interesting.
He watched as she pulled out a small notebook and began scrawling away, he had a notebook aswell, which mainly contained biological field notes. He couldnt see why she was useing it in the great hall unless there was an interesting insect crawling under the table or something.
Curosly he shuffled towards her, dragging his plate of biscuits and mug of tea as he went. Once settled he waved at the girl, slurped his mug of tea and began to reconstruct his tower of biscuits.
"So how are you finding Hogwarts so far? I'm Drachir, nice to meet you."
He spoke with a thick welsh accent.

Sebrena was also furiously writing but in a different way than Miley. Her quill floated behind her as she thought about what was going on at school and how to phrase the party that went on in the Hufflepuff dorm. How much was too much?
Sebrena looked over when the noise was made and saw the girl get up and sit down at the Hufflepuff table. Sebrena also noticed Drachir and her cheeks went red at the sight of him, but wanted to slap herself silly. She was so boy crazy! She needed to focus on writing and friends, not boys! However, she noticed that the girl was furiously writing and Sebrena perked up. Maybe the girl liked to write? She got up from her table and walked over to Hufflepuff.
"Hello! I see you like to write!" She pointed to Miley's journal and lightly punched Drachir in the arm. She needed to establish a firm friendship, not a crazy crush.
"I'm Sebrena and is he bothering you?" She joked with a grin.

Miley sat up with excitement. "FRIENDS!" She shouted in her mind. She put the pen inside the book and closed it quickly.
"Oh! Hello! How are you?" She said with delight. "He's fine. I was just startled. I get in the "zone" if you call it, when I'm writing. My name is Miley! I'm new here. Nice too meet you both! Um... sorry about the loud noise."
Miley then stands up and gives a little bow to the both of them. "It's very nice here. I got lost walking in actually. I never realized how big it was." She laughs nervously.
Miley noticed that Sebrena was pointing at her diary. She didn't know how to react. Did she want to see it or was she a fellow writer too? Quietly she said "I love to write. I write when I have no one to talk to. When I write, I feel like I'm talking to the world, but at the same time I'm only talking to myself."
As Miley was speaking, she was looking at Drachir strangely. She never saw someone who could eat so many biscuits at once. She was kind of hoping he was playing with them rather eating them. "Do you mind if I eat one? I'm sort of hungry. I was too excited about coming here that I forgot to eat breakfast."

Drachir's tower collapsed when Sebrena punched him in the arm he gave her a glance, first admiring her and then curseing her for knocking over his tower. He didn't quite understand the writing thing, but he sort of understood the talking to the world but talking to yourself at the same time bit. He talked to sleeping Dragons and plant's, both of which he decided understood him completly and retained an unbreakable silent response.
"I talk to plant's and Dragons and things, they don't say much though."
Miley asked for a biscuit, he looked down at his tower, now in ruins once again and shoved the plate forwards, offering all of them to share between them.
"Sure, I don't think biscuits make very good foundations anyway."

Thanks! I'm sorry about your tower. Do you like to build things? Miley then reaches over and grabs a biscuit. Within in a blink of an eye, she finished the first one and was half way done the second biscuit. She didn't realize how hungry she was until then.
Once she was finished eating, she turned to Drachir. You talk to plants and dragons Drachir?! I would love to be able to talk to them and have them understand me. I heard talking to plants help them grow and such! Miley's voice started to get louder in excitement, not too loud for her to get in trouble though. Miley never knew that someone could talk to animals. She then realizes there was much for her to learn.

((Just so you know in the future, can you put your dialogue in quotations? Its hard to read and understand if you are talking to yourself or other people. Thanks! :-D))
Sebrena's face brightened when the girl mentioned she loved to write. Sebrena nodded eagerly at her revelation. She hoped the girls would be fast friends due to their love of writing. Maybe it wasn't exactly the same love because Sebrena didn't have a diary, but Sebrena would take it!
"Yeah, Hogwarts is awesome, isn't it?" Sebrena agreed with her and then watched as Drachir gave her all the biscuits from the fallen tower he worked hard to built only moments before.
"You need to stop hogging biscuits!" Sebrena waggled a finger and took a biscuit for herself as she sat down at the Hufflepuff table. She grinned at Miley and then furrowed her brow at Drachir's admission that he liked to talk to Dragons and Plants. Sebrena didn't know what to say because then Miley talked about how she would love to have them understand her.
"I don't think plants understand people, Miley." Sebrena said suddenly, not realizing that if she wanted to be friends, she needed to not point stuff like that out.
"Do Dragons? I don't think so..." Sebrena said the next part hesitantly because she really didn't know about animals so much.

Drachir, picked up a biscuit and dunked it in his tea before eating it. The reamining part of the biscuit fell in half and dropped back into his tea, he lifted it to examine it when Sebrena said.....
"Do Dragons? I don't think so..."
He put the cup down, grabbed a spoon and began fishing for the rest of his biscuit.
"Uh well no not really, but you can understand some stuff by just watching them; for example when the arch there back and lift there head and tail a bit. That's a Dragon telling you to run away very fast, the boiler suits might protect you, for a little bit."
He didn't want to admit it but the only time you really got chance to talk to a Dragon was when it was asleep, being lazy or in a cage. Plants on the other hand you could talk to all the time, but it was generally more difficult to understand what they meant with gentle swishing.

((sorry! I had it in quotes and then my stupid internet kept failing!))
Miley started to slouch when she found out that plants really didn't understand people. She has read in books and heard from other people that when you talked to them nicely that plants will tend to grow better. I guess it was just a myth and she was too gullible. "Sorry Sebrena. I guess I was wrong" as Miley's smile went away. Again, she felt like a fool. She wanted to make friends but she kept on saying stupid things.
"So dragons talk to us through their body language huh? That's actually quite interesting. Maybe one day you can take me there to see one? Both of you I mean. I want to be friends with both of you, so I don't the other to feel left out. If that's ok with you guys." With the talk of dragons, Miley started to perk up a little. With the talk of mystical creatures its brought out the happiness in her. Ever since she got her fairy necklace from her mother, she felt it was protecting her.

Drachir splutted, he had never taken anyone to the facillity before, he didn't even know if it was allowed. When he worked there he worked alongside trained professionals and people that had grown up there, everyone knew what they were doing and took measured risks. On the other hand she might have experience and the facillity was always looking for young volenteers, partly due to the high fatality rate.
"I don't suppose youv'e had experience with Dragons have you, um what did you say your name was again?"

When Miley was asked if she had any experience with dragons, all she could do was lower her head. "No.... but I have read about them in books and such. But I guess that wont be good enough to see them huh?" Miley had a slight disappointment tone in her voice. She knew without experience there was not much she can do.
"It's ok really. It's kind of like being around wild animals. Without the proper training, you wouldn't know what to do when a bad situation happens." As Miley gave a smile.
"OH! I'm sorry! My name is Miley DeLong! Please to meet you! Miley gives Drachir a slight head bow and smiles. "In all of the excitement of meeting the two of you, I must have not introduced myself to you. I'm sorry."
