'Thankyou Parker,' added Death noticing that the girl seemed more comfortable with direct praise. Crippling shyness was something he found hard to watch and if thanking her would make the tension go away he would gladly provide the words.

Standing up, he put the clipboard down on the chair and leapt up onto the stage. Turning round, Death addressed the students.

'My adoring fans,' he said. 'Since you were all brave enough to come here today and make fools of yourselves - in some cases - in front of me I thought it only fair that I perform for you and demonstrate a little slice of what Simon Cowell would call... "the X Factor"'

He pulled a CD out of the side pocket of his combat trousers and hopped off the stage heading over to Ethlinn.

'I'll be borrowing this thankyou!' he announced, grabbing her magical CD player and returning to the stage. Kneeling down he popped the CD into the player, whispering something to the machine. Pressing play, Death stood and faced the students

'Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Mambo number five,' he said and started to sing.

To the potion store around the corner,
The boys say they want some spiked punch but I really don't wanna,

Val promise me that you won't freak.

Death pointed to Valentina and winked.

The song finished and Death bowed and grinned. Having had two milleniums in which to refine his singing voice, he had perfected performing and knew he'd done a fantastic job. He could only hope Val had taken the joke in good jest!

[Lucas Montgomery]

Lucas was very impressed with what Parker could do on stage. It made him happy she was able to put aside her fear and just go for it. It was almost the same instance for him, however, his was more out of spite for Death. Lucas gave Parker a friendly smile of encouragement when she finished.

"That was pretty cool, Parker. I knew you could do it."

With Sadie coming up to talk to her about dancing, Lucas was glad. If Parker could find another female to bond with, it might help her self esteem and confidence around the school. Most of the girls were nice, with the exception of those in Slytherin and one in Ravenclaw. However, that thought would have to wait as Death decided to give a performance.

His song was amusing and didn't seem too surprising. Using the names of the girls in the school. Clever. However, Lucas felt his face turn into a scowl when he heard Sadie's & Parker's name used. He didn't want to show it, but some form of jealousy had crept in there. Perhaps not the best quality to display at the moment.

When the Reaper had finished, Lucas raised and eyebrow and shook his head. "Clever. But shouldn't Jude have had a chance to audition before you decided to bring the house done?" Lucas asked.

[Jude Paxton]

Jude really did not like how rude this guy was... He was a prefect match for Cabbage Head. So he just shot him a look. All he was trying to do was get an answer to a simple question, but it would seem that this guy had gotten a big head head over this production he was putting on. He did know that this was a school play/musical and it was not going to be put on Broadway? Directors are all the same.

Then Jude watched as this Death guy decided he was going to try and upstage everyone. Fine, whatever. At the end of the song Death preformed Jude was already on his way out. He already had way to much stuff on his plate now to be worrying about helping out in the stupid play or musical this guy concocted up. Then Lucas spoke to Death, saying how Jude did not get a chance.

Jude walked by Lucas on his way, and gave him an appreciative look. "Thanks man, but don't worry about it. I am sure that his production will be just fine without me."

"Clever. But shouldn't Jude have had a chance to audition before you decided to bring the house done?"

Death scoffed. 'I believe the phrase is "bring the house down" And regarding Jude, perhaps if he hadn't been so rude just barging in while I was talking to Parker then I would have asked him to audition before I sang. Instead I decided to teach him some manners by making him put into practice a little something called patience.'

At the end of this little speech, the offending Hufflepuff was already at the door, shouting something back to Lucas before disappearing out of the room.

Death rolled his eyes. 'Drama queen.' He turned back to the students. 'And you're all free to leave now. I'll have the cast list on the Ballroom door within the next few days and... maybe I'll include my audition comments... just for kicks.'

Fortunately, Val knew Death was only joking... who would be stupid enough to sing a song like that seriously in front of their girlfriend? However, it would be a lie if she were to say that the part where he sang of Angel didn't get her a little bit riled up inside.

She applauded, but then the next thing she knew, Lucas was telling Death off about the creepster named Jude not having a chance to audition, as if anyone cared... Plus, it didn't even seem like Jude himself cared that much, he had stepped out right after what Lucas said.

Val rolled her eyes and then looked back at Death who announced that he'd have the cast list in the next few days. She hoped that she would get a good part, after all, her perfromance, she knew, was amazing!
